T minus 9 Days

To NaNoWriMo 2015! Only 9 days left in October before I attempt NaNoWriMo yet again! It’s terrifying, but an exhilarating feeling. Especially when I’m more prepared this year. I’ve been outlining scenes for the novel ‘Mirror Madness’ for a few weeks now after my final exam. They’re not quite complete yet, but I’ve got a good grasp on the novel (I hope!).

Here’s a little sneak peak of the virtual scene cards that I’m doing right now using Scrivener (Which I love to the moon and back). Currently rearranging the scenes and trying to pace the novel better. There are a lot of flaws for now, and the summaries suck so much. But it’s there! An idea that will hopefully become a full-fledge novel by the end of this year.

Synopsis of my novel ‘Mirror Madness’ for NaNoWriMo 2015:

Saranya and Mun Keat are two children living on different ends of the Earth, and in a most unfortunate moment, they are both sent tumbling down through the Looking Glass where monsters live. They find themselves in a world of mirrors, unable to leave.

Lost and afraid, the two children must gather up their wits and courage to fight their way through this mad world where creatures beyond imagination exist. They have to seek help from the strangest of friends. Tweedledee and Tweedledum sends them off to Vassilisaโ€™s way, only to be guided to where the Moon is buried. With the help of the Moon, they find the vorpal sword and off the children go to the East of the Sun, West of the Moon.

Together, Saranya and Mun Keat must find a way out of the madness.

So here’s to an amazing NaNoWriMo this year. I can’t wait!

Love, Nicole.

p/s: My mum hates the names Mun Keat and Saranya, what are your opinion on the names?

  1. World of mirrors, buried moon, yep, I would totally read this book. It’s cool how not just one but two people slip through the Looking Glass. Your character names fit together somehow and sound good to me.

You’re making me want to check out Scrivener again.
